I remember the first time I saw this amazing thing called "Internet". I had just come back from living in Spain for over a year and my younger brother and I were sitting at the computer. He said I had to see something cool. After a major battle of sounds coming out of the desktop box as the 28k modem connected I found myself staring at a hideously bright orange page with flashing text and a single grainy image. After finding out that a few geeky friends of mine were actually designing these things I decided to give it a try. Hundreds of head-banging hours and a couple of very patient friends later I figured out first HTML, then CGI, PERL, JavaScript, XML, PHP, MYSQL and CSS (gotta love those acronyms) and started on my way to something resembling success. Atleast I can say gratefully that I've never used flashing text in a design.
